I'm trying to work with the api of card.io ( link ) to capture a card and get your name, phone and other ...
The case is that nothing else to begin, I download the app that has of example in my Samgsung S6 and there is no way that it detects anything. That is, the camera is activated, framing the photo but does nothing ... does it happen to you too?
Is it viable to focus this api on the name and phone recognition more than for the credit card issue?

I do not think that you can detect text with the api of card.io, since it is specifically designed to recognize the numbers of the cards and their expiration dates. What I think you are looking for is an optical character recognition (OCR for its acronym in English), now google put within our reach Mobile Vision which is available in the latest updates of the Google Play Services, from experience I can tell you that it works quite well. There are other alternatives, but they are a little more difficult to implement such is the case of Tesseract and with the Fork of rmtheis everything is it becomes easier, the biggest difference between them is the "personalization" since tesseract "learns" through files, from a source to a language.
