I have a problem that I do not understand. I would appreciate help.
The thing is like that.
I have a Windows server 2012, with an AD DC and right there a DNS. The name of the machine is: ws. The domain is: dom.inetserver.lo The NETBIOS of the domain is DOM. The IP: 192.168.10.4
In the DNS the first search zone is: dom.inetserver.lo
Nombre Tipo Datos
(igual que la carpeta principal) Inicio de autoridad (SOA) [5], ws.dom.inetserver.lo., hostmaster.
(igual que la carpeta principal) Servidor de nombres (NS) ws.dom.inetserver.lo.
ws Host (A) 192.168.10.4
An nslookup from the server itself for: ws.dom.inetserver.lo responds without problems 192.168.10.4. If I do the same from a PC on the network, it responds the same. If I ask for ws, so without the sujifo (dom.inetserver.lo), it does not respond.
I have a Win7 in a VM that I include in the domain without problems. But. And here is where it gets weird. I try to include a Qnap NAS.
When I use: DNS domain name: dom.inetserver.lo NETBIOS name: DOM
The NAS says it does not find the necessary information.
When I use: DNS domain full name: ws.dom.inetserver.lo NETBIOS name: DOM
the NAS detects the name of the forest of AD DC (ws.dom.inetserver.lo) but at the time of uninerse it puts something that I do not understand, this what it puts:
DNS server: 192.168.10.4 DNS name: ws.dom.inetserver.lo NETBIOS name: DOM domain controller ws.ws.dom.inetserver.lo
add a WS in front ..
The Windows machines join without problems what you tell me that my configuration of the DNS and the AD DC is correct. Then I do not understand why a NAS makes that change.
I appreciate any help.
