It is impossible to know if the router is the default gateway to connect to the internet.
If you create another network, in the end, you should have access to the gateway.
Even creating two networks, if the gateway is the same they will have access.
Another thing is blocking access to certain services of the router to a network or certain IP.
This is done with the firewall that the router has.
