List in Datatable.js 12k of rows

I am working with php and mysql with the Codeigniter framework and I am loading 12 thousand records of products using Datatable.js, the problem is that when the page is displayed, 12 thousand records are loaded and after about 20 seconds accommodates, that is, the list is framed and the page numbers are displayed.

How do I keep the 12 thousand from loading? if not only the first 10 or 20 nothing else, then with the user's interaction and load the rest.
