# 1251 - Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client

After installing mysqlserver 5.7.22 on a server with Centos 6.9 and php 5.4 and installing phpmyadmin when I try to enter phpMyAdmin I receive this error despite being able to use this user to enter mysql and have configured this user in / etc /phpMyAdmin/config.inc.php.

#1251 - Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client

After this error I can not move forward, all this problem started after updating mysql from version 5.1 to 5.5 here the problem started, then the last stable version was updated on 5.7.22 and the problem persists.

Any help they can provide would be very useful.
