I have a long document in Word that has a lot of data with the format ES-
and 4
numbers that are changing ( ES-0006
, ES-0015
, ES-0164
, etc.) , and I need to change them for others that I have in an Excel sheet with the format R-
and 4
numbers ( R-0001
, R-0002
, R-0003
, etc.).
In the Excel sheet, I have saved in the A
column all the ES-xxxx
that I used in the Word document and in the B
column I have the R-xxxx
for which I have to change them.
Now I am changing them one by one using Search and replace in Word : In Search I type the ES-XXXX
that is in the column A
of the sheet Excel and in Replace I type the R-XXXX
that is on the right in the column and click on change all.
This is Word enter this sheet Excel and copy the contents of cell A-3
, return to the text, open the function Search and Replace with Word and paste it into the Search window. Then you must go back to this sheet Excel and copy the contents of cell B-3
and in Word paste the contents in the window Replace with the Search and Replace feature and activate Replace all . Once the first one is already replaced, you should do the same with cell A-4
and replace it in Word with the contents of cell B-4
and so on, until you find an empty cell.

Would there be any way for Word to do it automatically and all at once?
