Server for VBA Access application

-1

A friend has a business and has a system made in VBA .. He uses Access for the tables obviously, forms and reports, and encodes with VBA.

I had proposed a client server system: Delphi + MySQL. But I do not accept.

And you want to create a server to not pass data by means of pendrive from one machine to another. Would it be a shared disk on the Internet or am I wrong? Since access is not a database engine that is accessed with IP and Port. Should the disc be shared?

If it were like this: if there is no internet, it can be saved locally, or Access is "stuck" to that disk on the Internet.?

Access is not a DBMS, it is a local database and you can not access it directly through the internet.

Within a local network you can access through a shared directory. Through internet you will have to think of something like Terminal Server or similar.
