Hello everyone, as the title says, I'm confused about sql server and sql server express, being that I can not differentiate them, besides being able to install both in the same machine and use sql management studio.

I ask, since I have to carry out a project of the university on datamart, being sql server who stores the data and sql express who makes the consultations without touching the DB.

SQL Server is the Microsoft BD engine. For issues of cost / licensing is offered in several editions, one of them is the SQL Server express edition, which has no cost, but is limited in features. For your school project should work without problems.
